Its something about the amplified sound of the model's footsteps on the runway that set the tone to my first introduction to Telfar. However, the score by Lizzi Bougtsos was only a portion of the enamor. The array of colorful skin tones of the models combined with an excellent balance of tonal fabrics to compliment their shade was impressive. Denim, leather, cord, and knit were the most utilized textile choices on the runway and each garment screamed elevated minimalism. Im just as infatuated with the clothes as I am about the fact the designer, Telfar Clemens, is of Liberian decent. The West African design perspective has always been one of depth but never properly noted until recently. The ease of this collection played in my mind as smooth as Mike's smooth vocals on Liberian Girl.... Go figure.
